Accreditation Committee
The committee is appointed annually by the DEGANZ Board and consists of a minimum of three and a maximum of five current DEGANZ full members, ANZSE-accredited editors, or editors with an internationally recognised accreditation group.
They evaluate accreditation applications according to the written procedures outlined on the ANZSE landing page. Each application for accreditation is considered at length by the committee. ANZSE Accreditation is not a competition, and each application is judged on its own merits.
The DEGANZ Board awards accreditation on the recommendation of the ANZSE Accreditation Committee.

Annie Collins ANZSE
Annie Collins has worked as an editor in the New Zealand film industry for over 50 years. From early in her career, she committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and to telling Aotearoa stories, with a particular focus on documentary filmmaking. Ensuring editing skills were accessible to Tangata Whenua and that rangatiratanga would be in place on indigenous projects became early and enduring priorities. She was also closely involved in developing the Kaupapa and Constitution of the NZ Film Archive (now Nga Taonga).
Annie has been involved in training and upskilling editors, directors and producers throughout her career and continues to do so through mentoring industry members. More recently, she has been a member of the DEGANZ Board, actively involved in establishing NZQA tertiary editing standards and improving editors’ conditions. Peter Roberts ANZSE
After deciding not to pursue a career as an ice cream soda jerk, Peter joined the London film industry as a production runner in the late 1970s. Like everyone else, he thought he’d become a director, but after spending time on shoots, realised that the edit suite was a better fit. He learnt his craft in Soho’s film cutting rooms, working mainly on commercials and documentaries.
Travelling the world in the mid ’80s, working sometimes as an editor, photographer and even as a teacher, he fetched up in New Zealand in late 1985, agreeing to cut a film for Alison MacLean the day after he arrived. Five years at TVNZ followed, where Peter edited in all areas: film and tape, news, drama, documentary, and commercials.
In 1992, he partnered up to purchase one of the first Avid editing systems in NZ, which led to an extremely busy period editing many broadcast documentaries, TVCs, corporate videos and short films. Later, he co-founded post-production house RPM in Ponsonby. By the noughties, Peter was editing feature films, drama series, and documentaries. He still is.
Peter spent a decade or so on the board of DEGANZ (as it is now named), variously as editor representative, treasurer and president. He’s also proud to have edited three films in the top 25 NZ releases (by box office) of all time.
Jonno Woodford-Robinson ANZSE
Jonno Woodford-Robinson has been a feature film editor since 1999. His diverse career spans visual effects spectacles and indie comedies to dramas and documentaries. Based in Aotearoa New Zealand, his credits include sci-fi epic Mortal Engines, mockumentary comedy-horror What We Do in the Shadows, acclaimed dramas The Rehearsal and Mahana, and Taika Waititi’s debut feature Eagle vs Shark, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. He also edited the Emmy-nominated fantasy adventure series Time Bandits and Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Mr. Corman, both Apple TV productions; Wayne Blair’s Australian sci-fi drama series Cleverman; NZ detective drama One Lane Bridge; and the award-winning short film Closer, which was in competition for the Short Film Palme d’Or at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival. Other highlights of his extensive resumé include editorial work on Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings films, The Two Towers and Return of the King, and an additional editor role on King Kong.
Jonno also gained an extensive VFX skill set while working for Wētā Digital’s (now Wētā FX) motion capture department in 2005 and 2006. This experience has proved invaluable on both 3D and VFX-driven productions.
He also edited the environmental documentary The Last Ocean, martial-arts-Western The Warrior’s Way, pioneering Rotuman feature film Pear ta Ma ‘on Maf (The Land Has Eyes), Dame Gaylene Preston’s mini-series Hope and Wire, and Kiwi comedy remake Pork Pie. Most recently, he was an additional editor on Jared Hess’s A Minecraft Movie and completed work on Chelsie Preston Crayford’s feature debut, Caterpillar.
